--------- FETTE Bombastische Produktion. (Rockhard) --------- The production quality to the album is superb. Maledictus Eris doesn't really have the cleanest of qualities, which is great becuase it helps the the instruments out well as they benefit from a loud and crisp production without having it come off completely sterilized. All the instruments sound heavy as well, with the guitars having a bit of a higher pitch but adding a little extra edge to the music, and the drum kits sounds great with everything leveled properly and working with the heavy and noticable bass. These and all the additional Folk instruments, dominantly flutes, are all pretty loud in the mix and seem to blanket the gutturals, which are deep and crisp as well, but not to the point where you can really understand what is being said. All of this leads to a fantastic crushing sound that, thanks to the Folk instruments and the more upbeat sounds, often gives the material the feeling that you should be drinking pints of ale and singing along in a small tavern somewhere, just having fun with this release. instrumental piece of art Instrumentalstück. Awesome clean guitar
and bass tones in addition to monumental and majestic groovy riffs
made me trip for the next hour. This masterpiece also features
great guitar solos and I'm constantly reminded of Phantoms (of the
Oath) by Dismember when listening to it.

--------- The production quality of the EP is by far one of the best in any Indian metal releases and this lends an extra credibility that Inner Sanctum are indeed a formidable act. And that's not it, unlike many other numerous Indian metal acts selling their 'original' stuff, Inner Sanctum's authentic sound rides high on the album aping no other acts. This is in fact is one of the many highs of the EP.

--------- Fetter Sound (Rockhard) --------- Das verdammt fett klingende Studioalbum „Liebisslieder”, überrascht mit unerwartet modernen Elementen, massenweise tonnenschweren Grooves und einer scheinbar gesteigerten Fülle an Melodien, welche jedoch reibungslos in den gewohnten Incubator-Monstersound gedrückt wurden. Every instrument burst out of the speakers at its best, and that's also what makes "Black Sails at Midnight" one great release.

"Arv" ist ein sehr gelungenes Werk, das in der hoffentlich bald "gesundschrumpfenden" Szene unbedingt dafür sorgen sollte, dass ÁSMEGIN ins vordere Mittelfeld der ersten Folk-Metal-Liga aufsteigen. (Powermetal.de) --------- The catchy tales of life on the high seas, including "Keelhauled" or "The Quest", use authentic instruments (violin, horns) to give these maritime jewels their final polish. Producer Lasse Lammert (LSD Studio) has given "Black Sails at Midnight" a unique and powerful sound, which earned him many a wench and much wealth from Captain Morgan's personal stash. (Napalm Records) --------- Unbedingt zu erwähnen sei bei dieser Eigenproduktion der ultrafette Sound..... Wenn das die Maßstäbe an Eigenproduktionen werden, sieht es für die Zukunft des Metal-Underground schlecht aus. Denn solche Qualität können sich die wenigsten leisten.
--------- Einen guten Schritt nach vorn ging es in Sachen Produktion, hier hat das Lübecker LSD-Studio ganze Arbeit geleistet. Die Kinderkeyboards, die beim Vorgänger noch mehr oder weniger freiwillig komisch wirkten, treten hinter mächtigem Bombast deutlich zurück. Wenn hingegen die Hörner wie bei „Leviathan“ schmettern, dann kommt wirklich Stimmung auf. (Metal.de) --------- HORNS UP!
--------- A few things that deserve special mention are the quality of the production and the overall packaging. Too often, bands record EPs that sound terrible and kudos to Inner Sanctum for not falling into that trap. The sound is absolutely top-notch and coupled with the packaging, the whole thing comes off as extremely professional.
